Software for data acquisition and control of Ames Photonics linear detectors (CCD, CMOS and InGaAs) from one PC at a time. Supports real-time single acqusition and averaging modes, spectral measurements, background subtraction and normalization. (For up to 4 identical detectors when used with SAM interfaces). SpectraArray provides interactive control, a fully featured display and reporting functions. Absorption, transmission, reflectance, irradiance and emission measurements are supported. Allows import of reference data in ASCII format for irradiance measurements and instrument function calculation. Data can be exported as ASCII files for more detailed analysis or reporting in other applications. Generates blackbody curve for instrument function calculation. Supports wavelength calibration of spectrometers using spectral lamp references. Supports TCDC “clean spectra” noise reduction technology.

New features:

• Semi-automated spectral calibration of spectrometer using spectral line lamps
• SEF signal/noise enhancement feature.
• Supports horizontal binning with smoothing, 2x, 4x and 8x.
• Self-hardlock feature. Each license is coded to work with only one detector, the serial number of which can be read by the oftware. It can be loaded onto any number of PCs, but will only control the detector with the matching serial number
configuration file. The detector can be connected to any PC running an instance of the SpectraArray SL program which carries hat detector’s configuration file and it will be recognized. If the software is lost, just send Ames Photonics the serial number of
the detector and a new instance of SpectraArray SL will be supplied free of charge configured for that detector (or SAM nterface).

Key Features

This powerful, single user software provides the quickest and easiest road to achieving stand-alone control of any Ames Photonics linear array detector (CCD, CMOS, InGaAs) via a PC under Windows. The data acquired are treated as spectra, as this is a convenient way to think of linear arrays of data, even for non-spectroscopic applications. SpectraArray SL supports real-time, single shot and averaging modes of data acqusition, with background and dark signal subtraction.

  • Full acquisition control of any Ames Photonics linear array detector
  • Displays data by pixel number, in nm, cm-1, eV
  • Three active spectra per detector-Background, Reference, Signal
  • Can support up to four detectors via SAM interfaces
  • Allows import and export of data files
  • Continuous, real-time, single and multiple (averaged) signal acquisition modes
  • Calculates absorption, transmission, irradiance and reflectance spectra
  • Supports calculation of Instrument Function
  • Displays raw data or corrects for background and dark signal
  • Supports TCDC (Temperature Compensated Dark Correction) a patented, automated dark signal correction
  • Generates black body curves
  • On-sceen, user interactive, semi-automated calibration of spectrometers using spectral lamps
  • Signal enhancement feature (SEF): 2,4 and 8X horizontal binning with smoothing
  • Zoom window for all spectra with on-screen cursors with pixel coordinates
Semi-automatic wavelength calibration

Spectrometer wavelength calibration using an Ames Photonics array detector is simple. The program displays on the screen the spectral lines available from a source, as well as the actual spectrum measured.

The user then interactively stretches, squeezes and moves the reference spectrum till it closely fits the measured spectrum. Once close, the program automatically makes the final calibration by fitting a polynomial to the field. This function can save hours on this task and removes the concern about recalibration after moving the grating position.

Multiple Detector Control

SpectraArray SL can be used to control up to four identical detectors via a SAM simultaneous acquisition module. Each detector is supplied with a configuration file which has to be loaded into SpectraArray SL for it to see the detector. SpectraArray will display up to 12 spectra on the screen simultaneously (three per detector) displaying the acquired Background, Reference and Sample spectra for each detector. The zoom window display for each spectrum allows full inspection and on-screen analysis.

The spectra from each detector can be labeled differently as Background, Reference or Sample, as may be required.
